To start with, letz talk about Jute Silk sarees. After having seen Aish in that Maroon Jute silk saree, I was looking around for these online. The Jute silk saree was looking so classy on Aish. But, the ones I have seen so far have been only so-so.. For eg: www.belagodu.com/sarees/belagodusaree41.htmlHas anyone checked out jute Silk sarees in person? In this case, is it that the photo is not doing justice to the saree? This is on my To-Buy list when I go to India. Whaddaya gals think?

I love Sridevi. She looks amazing in this Ad. I liked all the jewellery but for that heavy neckpiece she is wearing with the Maroon saree. Love the earrings that go with that design. If I had a picture of it, I would have posted in "I want It" section. And those finger rings that she wears for the photoshoot - oh my God, I am gonna get something like during my next visit to India. I have already put in a request with my husband that I am going to buy the necklace also (the long one she puts on at the start of the photo shoot - At 0:54, it is the third necklace in the set she is wearing - I got a OK!! Yippeeee!!

Speaking of sridevi on the above, I find the blouse length is bit too longish. Also the Zari could have been bit smaller. Other than this, it's OK. One of these days I would like to have Kerala saree but I also need all those golden jewellary ;D

Agree with Tara on length of the blouse.
But one thing I noticed was - usually Kerala jewellery are machine cut and light weight according what I have known so far. How come these jewellery have solid design - very different from those days!!

Thanks gals. Yeah tara, even I love the Kerala Kasavu saree. But it is very high maintenance. It is 100%unbleached cotton with Zari. Earlier the border used to simple - nowadays, they have started putting in colors and designs. Even Sridevi's saree has design in the border - not like the traditional ones. Found some variations of the same - Though Aish's version looks the best of all, it takes away the authentic Kerala factor. :-) VidyaBalan has brought the right effect - the blouse adds a pizzaz to the simple design. source:makeupandbeauty.com source: oyestyle

Rani Mukharjee is not at all looking good. She is looking like a 40+ year old woman and the blouse is so deep. So, instead of traditional look, it's giving sexy look.
Aish saree does not even look like Kerala kasuvu saree. She looks pretty though, as usual.
Vidya Balan is close except that she looks as if she had gone to some south Indian marriage function:))

Vidya Balan looks good with short sleeves. In all functions, she shows up with long sleeves which I don't like much.
Great collection of star's outfits. It's feast for us men : )

Agree with comments on Rani and Vidya. They try to showcase Sabyasachi's design and at the end for some reason, end up dressing up like some elderly ladies! They could carry the designs without the 3/4th sleeves, big bottu and the knotted hair!

Aish's saree is Cotton with Zari border (which kind of agrees with Kasavu saree description) - it doesn't show so, because of her blouse . She has paired the saree with a silk blouse. If you notice carefully in the pic, you will see the distinct texture between saree and blouse.

maya and Anu, Looks like your prayers have been answered. Rani turned up in an age approp outfit after a long time (a welcome change from her usual Sabya sarees, 3/4 sleeves and knotted hair look) at the Laadli National Media awards. She looks good and I like the overall look. I don't know if it is the lighting or flash dint work to her advantage, but her makeup looks very caked up. Sorry to nitpick. Out of all, white sari clad Indian stars, I liked Vidya the best. Vidya still has charm of 20+ girl even though She and Rani are of same age.
