Sania Mirza has reached just round of 16 once in a Grandslam and has won one singles (Where top women were absent) and she has made over 50 crores in endorsement. Her prize money is little over a million dollars (about 2 crores after tax and expenses). So why single out cricketers for making money ? Especially when they are successful like now, they deserve it. Except 4 or 5 players, rest do not make much in endorsements. I don't find anything wrong in them having money than corrupt politicians or filthy rich businessmen.
People think that getting selected to a cricket team is easy. In cricket crazy like India/Pakistan etc , making into national or even state team is difficult than getting 2400 in SAT or 99% in GATE
. The pool is that much bigger. My cousin in Mysore thought he had skills to play in very high level cricket , but when he went for selection, he could not get selected to KA Ranji team. He had the right connections as he was recommended by KA minister to get into selection but his skills did not match up in the selection round.
