Additional reward to Indian cricket team after World cup 2011.
Are we doing too much?
Agreed that it is big victory and given the the craze about cricket in India each player would get a money for their life time any ways just for playing in the team then why all this additional rewards as if cricket is the only sports in India
Take a look at this sample.
Karnataka CM announces BDA site for each player
Tamilnadu announces 3 crores for each player
Indian cricket board announces each playerv a crore.
Delhi govt gives special reward to Dhone.
Punjab state has given special reward to its own players.
Maharastra govt gives special reward to sachin
Read a news that there will a stadium in Dehradune in the name of Dhoni.
Wow, for the life time, I want to be in Indian team once, just for once. what a crap, stop this nonsense.

Look at Karnataka and Tamilnadu offers. They don't leave their politics here also. One declared BDA site and other one immediately 3 crore.
So, Mr.Yadiyurappa, you go and declare utility building for each player.
And then Mr.Karunanidhi, please go ahead and declare a private beach for each player.

I think for this same reason of extra hype, Courtney Marsh wanted India to lose : )
I agree everyone is going overboard. But compared to 140,000 crores in 2G scam (Raja/Karunanidhi), Land scams of BSY in KA, Suresh Kalmadi scam in CWG, atleast these players train hard and try to win every time they step in. Let them reap the benefits than just the corrupt politicians. Plus don't believe all these announcements. When they will be materialized, no one knows. I had read that Brijesh Patel and Vishy never got the BDA sites when they had won some test series way back.

Tomorrow there will be a Front Page news article on how Dhoni helped push a car which had a puncture (sorry, I am in India, no usage of flat tire  ). My question is, who's giving the permission to these governments to give the money to them. You can't fix roads due to lack of funds but have money for cricketers who are already rich?. What has the Indian team done for the likes of Ramesh Krishnan, Prakash Padukone and other sports persons who play other sports. |

Bangalore BBMP mayor, Nataraj declared that one of the road(Banashaknari silk board road or Jayanagar 9th block, 45th street) in BLR will be named after Dhoni.
There was huge cry regarding the name for BLR airport.

Actually, I don't find wrong with this. It's an award without any monetary compensation. That's what the current day cricketers need. They have enough money. |

Rewards should be proportional to the risk taken. Imagine If India had failed to qualify for quarters...does Dhoni still has a job? Maybe not.
Indian cricket team goes through a lot of stress mentally due to the expectations. I have read somewhere the yuvi was vomitting daily due to stress. Its not easy being an indian cricketer, so I dont mind if they are given all these rewards. They deserve it.
