I thought AO was American Open . Need to start watching Tennis again. Watched Rafael Nadal's on court interview today. Was interesting. Now that Cricket has taken a back set let me see if I can revive my interest in Tennis.

But Federer won't win as he has his hands full in QF against Juan Martin Del Potro.
Men's Final most probably will be Nadal-Djokovic with Nadal winning it, reversing the latest trend in their rivalry when Djokovic beat him in 6 finals in 2011.

Surprisingly Fed's match against JMDP was very lopsided with Fed winning in straight sets without any drama. It was Fed's 1000 th career match and he has won 2000 sets.
Nadal somehow delivers against Fed in grandslams. I hope for his fan's sake, Federer wins it. Keeping fingers crossed.

Top 4 in men are in SF in Australian Open. This was the same case in US open in sept. as well. It's almost 4 years that either Rafa/Fed or Djokovic have won the majors with lone exception in US-Open 2009 by Del Potro.
Wow, such a statistic should discourage anyone outside top 3?

Congrats Paes. Good to see an Indian win Australian open at last. Great Chemistry with Stepanek was on display today.
Good luck for tomorrow Paes.
Congrats to Azarenka although I thought it was a one sided game with Sharapova.

Congrats to Azarenka although I thought it was a one sided game with Sharapova. Yes, Paes acheived career grand slam by winning all 4 majors. Great achievement at age 39 when 30 year old Federer is spoken like 'has been' term Ladies finals really gave me grief that I wasted good 4 hours of sleep for this lopsided match. Sharapova should practice her serve than scream. She was #4 seed and has experience playing in GS finals and she allows 6-0 drubbing by an opponent who was never in a final before? Thank god, I was not a paying fan in Rod Laver Arena to scream at screamapova Hoping that 2nd midnight oil burning in a row will be more worthy

Have a question though, how do you play Tennis for the duration of a Cricket Match. I am sure TV sponsors would be happy. Sponsors associated with Team India (Cricket) should look out to Tennis as it seems to last for a longer duration. You can advertise your products more . Nice to see Paes magnanimous in defeat (mixed doubles) and humble in win (Men's double).

Match was 5h 53 min : longest men's final in a grandslam in open era which started in 1968 when most of use were not born let alone watch tennis But one thing is both Nole(novak) and Rafa take maximum point between points with their ball bounces, towelling and Rafa's underwear adjustments for every point. If it was a match between players like Federer and Roddick who are done serving in a jiffy, the 5 set match could have been over in 3.5 hours is my guess. But I want Djokovic to win the RG to complete his collection of all 4 majors; he deserves it. Hope he stays motivated and injury free for next 5 months.
