Miami called the 5th slam (Masters 1000 series but is considered a notch above all tier-I Masters due to 112 people draw) saw two top ranked players Nadal and Djokovic play each other 2nd final in a row (after Indian Wells) with the same end result, Djokovic besting Nadal in tightly contested 3 setters.
Nadal has never won Miami before (this was his 3rd final apprearance after 2005 and 2008) but Djokovic has. Historically all top players and all dominant players of their era have won here. Would Nadal's legacy take a hit if he never wins this 5th slam?

I think it's too early to talk about Nadal's legacy. He will turn 25 this June and still has 4 more prime years of Tennis left in him. But I think Novak is gaining confidence with every win. Till Indian wells, he was 0-5 against Nadal in Finals and now it's 2 wins in a row. Tennis at top level is all about confidence and if he can snatch one win on clay against Nadal or anyone, that can do wonders for his career to go further upswing. I am glad that Nadal has hurdle to make it interesting at the top plus he has more than 7000 points to defend till July , year end #1 race is becoming interesting

Is is too early for FO early picks .. Clay court season has started. I have to see where my first interest is , Tennis or IPL. True to my name, I should pick IPL but after the WC win, I felt IPL came too soon, so following up on Tennis to see who will win FO this year. May be Nole can try hard to take it away from Rafa.

Haven't followed Tennis much these days. Can someone like John Mcnroe come back to play. It was fun to watch him play and more fun to watch him fight ;D

Nadal won 7th Monte Carlo Masters. He will win FO along with 2 more clay masters at Rome and Madrid as well. Federer is declining rapidly and Djokovic has not been a threat in clay or even in Wimbledon, have made men's Tennis predictable, very predictable.
I expect Nadal to raise 2 more grandslams by the end of Wimbledon. Only US Open can be competitive with Djokovic in the fray.

French Open 2011 edition: Last 4 : All 4 top men seeds are into SF for the first time in 3-4 years. Can red hot streaking Nole(43 wins and counting) stop Rafa in equaling Borg's record of 6 titles on Parisian clay? Can Murray provide any fight to Rafa in the SF round? Does Fed have a last hurrah to stop Nole's streak? (If he will fade against Rafa, I prefer Nole atleast for great match-up).
Can Sharapova win French to have won on all surfaces?
My gut feeling says that Li Na will win her first major boosting Tennis in China for the next few years and Rafa might lose his #1 ranking but will be the victor on Sunday.
What do other Tennis fans think?

Li Na and Francesca are in women's finals so my hunch that Li Na might win her first major is still on but finals will be well contested one.
Have to see whether Nadal will win his 6th RG crown will hold up as well.

Nadal won and Li Na won . Boring !!
French Open was boring as Djokovic failed to live up to expectation of upsetting Nadal and Fed as usual allowed Rafa to overrule him. I hope atleast wimbledon will see a new champ than Rafa.

US open 2001. Men's top 4 seeds are in last 4 and Serena, the clear favorite in women's draw is also in last 4. Who will be the winner? My prediction: Djokovic and Serena But if for some reason Federer beats Novak in SF, then he will lose to Nadal so I want Djokovic to win so badly

My prediction: Djokovic and Serena But if for some reason Federer beats Novak in SF, then he will lose to Nadal so I want Djokovic to win so badly My prayers were answered for Nole to beat Rafa Some ppl say that Tennis players, similarly to professional boxers, age not in years but in matches played. The magical number is 600. They never peak after this, only decline with various speeds, some diminish in overnight, some start slow decline. Fed hit this magical number in Basel in 2006. He still had great 2007, but his star began to vane – losses to the likes of journey men like Canas didn’t happen in 2004- 2006. Rafa already hit this number – in Monte Carlo this year; after that he is 0-6 in finals. He might not reach the heights of 2008 and 2010 again. Djokovic has more than hundred matches still left. So he has real chance to pull off Calendar Grand Slam (all 4 majors) season next year. But the year after that – based on 600 matches threshold, his power may start to diminish. But while the GOAT debate can wait till all the current players retire, can anyone deny that the trio (Djokovic, Rafa and Fed) could be the greatest 3 in the history of the Tennis (with 30 majors combined between them) ?

Roger Federer is in Paris Masters final. He the first ATP player to reach finals or better in of all Masters series played.
Hopes he wins this to cement his status as top in greatest players of all time.

RF won and he is one MS behind Nadal in Masters Series won with 18 but RF's wins have come on variety of surfaces like Hard, Clay, Indoor hard and carpet. Plus he has reached finals in others (Montecarlo, Rome and Shanghai). With this vintage form, can he win one more Grandslam Major in 2012? Heart says yes and brain says he is done winning major and wins like this will be rare and savored when they come
