Didn't see any thread discussing the reviews of English fictions.
Was a fan of PG Wodehouse and Jeeves in formative years in India ;now recently read some of his books to kill the time and didn't really have the same feelings of the past that he is the greatest humorist of 20th century. Has my taste of humor changed in these past 20 years, not sure.. any one feel the same?

Talking about PG Wodehouse, why he is not as famous as Jane Austen or Dickens or even Nathaniel Hawthorne in US school circles. The kids in US mandatory read the classics of 19th and 20th century in their middle and highschool but they do not read PGW by compulsion or on their own. Is it because humor is not appreciated in main stream US educators ?
