This is a nice thread. Do we have to bring a dish? Can't we drop in and gorge on other's dishes :-) Abt I, Me, Myself: I like everything and anything. If time permits, I'll try to participate in my faves.

I usually stay away from discussion boards but was referred by a family member to be active once in a while.
I encourage the attempt to form a new niche but the 'look' needs lot of improvement.
Is the User interface for this customized? Default proboards interface for couple of discussion boards looked clutter free than this with cursors at the top much easier on the eyes.
Don't take my criticism too hard but UIs are becoming lesser and lesser detail oriented at the front page but more functional like Facebook, Google or the LinkedIn plus if you can load it on iPhone/iPad, you can attract a bigger crowd.
Even the tab format like rediff is attractive. If you can achieve a minimal look like new posts at the front page as default view, and then allow the user to navigate deeper, it can attract a larger viewership in this 'less is more ' crowd. This vertical scrolling of all categories is an old tradition and not liked in iPhone/Android era.
