Share your opinions on Tamil Nadu elections. I am rooting for a AIADMK victory this time. Not a big fan of the Revolutionary Leader but she is the best Tamil Nadu has.

Only time will tell. Someone whose house was raided with regards to the 2G scam dies of cardiac arrest?. That too a gym goer whose age is 30?.

Oh sorry, somehow missed the part that his house was also raided. I feel like every state in India is becoming like Bihar - No offense to Biharis but there is a prevalent and prominent law & order problem in that state; I was just referring to that issue. A sad state of affairs, indeed :-(

But I am not rooting for AIADMK as well; Have heard of land acquisitions, Rowdy threats, etc. even in that regime.. So, how different would the case have been if this 2G Scam occurred with a AIADMK member!!

So, how different would the case have been if this 2G Scam occurred with a AIADMK member!! Yes, AIADMK folks are no saints. It's rowdy threats vs. people dying under mysterious circumstances. Unfortunately that's the only choice we have. If AIADMK would have been part of the 2G scam, then Rajini would've come and said "Not even God can save Tamil Nadu"

One of my relatives lives in Chennai and she says that when Jaya is in power, the beaches and roads (or in general municipal services) are much better. She also says that Jaya is a good person and less corrupt than MK but controlled by Shashikala and her family. How true is that?

She also says that Jaya is a good person and less corrupt than MK but controlled by Shashikala and her family. How true is that? Jayalalitha handles the administration very well. She even took the Govt. Employees to task once. No other CM (apart from Narendra Modi perhaps) would dare to do this. Yes, she is controlled by Sasikala and her cohorts. It's high time she realizes that and does something for the state which is turning into another Bihar of the past. Bihar of today is just fine.

I really dont believe that she does a better job than MK. I dont know how you people can get so easily mislead! There were overbridges and roads built during MK's regime and Jaya's regime.. Atleast MK did not flaunt his wealth with elaborate weddings, etc. She tool Govt. Employees to task - for what? For coming on time to work!! It is not like she improved the performing her Governance. Does it take lesser time to get work done in her regime? There was no difference in that - so what did the public benefit?

I agree with CW. Jaya is always judged by that one wedding. I have been to Chennai and I agree with my relative that beaches were much cleaner when Jaya was ruling. I admit that I have not travelled to rural places in TN and how the facilities look there.
I feel DMK should lose so they don't get too arrogant by winning.

I think we can say the same about AIADMK supporters... They always seem to undermine what DMK did during their term. I agree with what Chidambaram said few days ago: Mr. Chidambaram said that DMK has fulfilled all the promises it made in its 2006 election manifesto and hence he was seeking a mandate for it again. “If AIADMK wants to boast of something as achievement of their government they can only speak of dismissing 1.5 lakh-odd government employees in one go and acts like banning sacrifice of animals in temples etc.,” he said. “During the last five years DMK government has sanctioned Medical College for Tiruvannamalai, started an Engineering College in Arani, Government Polytechnic in Chengam taluk, Arts College in Vandavasi, created new State Transport Corporation region head quartered in Tiruvannamalai. Out of 20 lakh education loans given in India, 5 lakh beneficiaries are from Tamil Nadu.” He said that as many as 12.96 lakh students belonging to Dalit, OBC and minority communities had received education assistances in the State in the last one year alone Source: www.hindu.com/2011/04/05/stories/2011040555380300.htm
