Found this dress at Kohls.. what do you guys think? I like it, but kind of on the edge, as the belt in the middle looks like a bow!

Nowadays, they sell two blouses with a saree (Maa-Beti Saree) Saw this design - I thought that the embroidery may look gawdy but may be ok for evening functions, etc.. but what in the name is that other (beti) blouse!! Seriously, who wears such things! Oooi Maa, my mom would break my leg, if I had worn such ones! What do you ladies think?

If you are not ok with sleeveless blouse, you may feel this is uncomfy.. other than that, the whole look is actually good .. not that bad. So, Thumbs up from me!

I like shirt dress but this one on Rani Mukherjee is so wrong - the color, the length, the fitting. A Big Thumbs down to this dress on her - what say you? Source: Coolspotters.com Compare this with a typical Shirtdress :

During Time 100 Gala, the Ambanis went Hindustani style (Bandhgala suit & Lehenga).. I love it - Thumbs up. Nita Ambani looks very graceful (as always) in Abu-Sandeep Lehenga. I so heart the lehenga and it's off-white color & the embroidery work on it. Not too glitzy but still all glam. Source: highheelconfidential

Let us slice and dice some fashionistas from Dada Saheb Phalke Awards All the ladies kept their style very desi for this event, but none emerged as winners. Click on pictures for larger view.I am not a fan of such elaborate anarkalis - Most of the time, they just drown the person and make it look very overwhelming. Rarely can someone carry it well. Anushka could have nailed it - she looked awesome but for her hairstyle. It looks odd with the traditional necklace, earring, etc. Just does not gel well. :-) As always, PC is trying tooooo hard to look sexy. She looks great in a saree as it is - why does she ruin it by trying so hard? And why is she so afraid to experiment with her hairstle.. same old hairstyle for all occassions and dresses!! Borrriinnnggg! Last but not the least, even my fave Rekha disappointed me.. Always loved her Kanjeevarams and Heavy jewellery look with that loose hair and Red lips.. Ohh, why oh why, Rekha! Sonakshi sinha's top(chudidar top) is too long. It looks as if she is wearing a night gown.

I think, having a bustier design makes Anarkali look good and breaks the night-gown look. When the salwar is continuous, it looks very monotonous and hence falls flat.

In my opinion, even with the bustier, it looks very odd - it looks more like Ghaghra Choli with some pant peeking out :-)
I always liked the below the knee (not just above the ankle) length Anarkali with Chudidhars.
