I use flipboard a lot. My kids love talking Tom, where a cat repeats whatever you say, it's fun

I use Apps for CNN, NASA, chess problems for kids, talking teddy bear similar to talking tom cat.

You need to try Zite! Awesome app. It gathers all the news from different publications and presents it in a much classier format. You also type specific keywords for the news that you want like "Cricket" or "Anna Hazare" and it would get all the news articles for those keywords.
I also use Indeed for the job searches. It works very similar to Zite where its a one-stop point for all jobs based on a keyword.
