Ice hockey is considered very athletic and brutal compared to other major league sports.
Indians averse to snow sports are normally not hooked on to this sports but if you live in Canada, you better warm up to this sports as it's a national sports and is considered a religion like how we Indians treat Cricket.
Thread dedicated to talk about this and NHL (national hockey league).

Boston Bruins 2011 Stanley cup champions. They overcame total of three game-7 scenarios in playoffs and won after a gap of 39 years. Boston is the only big city in recent history to win all 4 major league championships (MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL) in the last 7 years. NY can claim bigger pay roll in all major league sports but can't buy championships Go Boston !!!

Vancouver fans disappointed with their hometeam loss on home ice, went on rampage after the game 7 loss. The destruction and rampage was very substantial and was upsetting to see the beautiful city getting destroyed on TV. We Indians destroy player's cars or homes when they lose in Cricket but we leave cities alone : ), so in that respect we can claim superiority over Canadians

Dhoni made a very touching point recently to cricket fans during the course of the World Cup. "Only when we are down when we need you, it took 4 months for me to recover after 2007 World Cup defeat after my house was stoned . When we are winning everyone is with us." Lesson for all fans from all sports.
