Hi, Every magazine article, you read people talk about success, milestones, achievements etc etc.. Should the success be measured based on external indicators like good job, lot of money , higher education, beautiful wife, kids and so on.. Why should the society judge one's success based on these factors? Can one be considered reasonably successful if he/she is doing whatever they are doing and enjoying it ? Do any of you agree with this? ps. Background was, recently my sister went to a wedding. All gathered were enjoying the occasion and then supposedly a 'big shot' came and all people wanted to entertain him and his entourage. Even after he left, people were talking about how successful he has become, how his house is a mansion in some coveted community etc. She didn't have problem with his external wealth but why consider only him as successful as everyone attending the wedding were reasonably successful was her question and that made me think, a rare moment for me .

Hmmmm very good observation. This post had me nodding at several points. But am also guilty of having done that unknowingly. But isn't it like sometimes some people just steal the show?
