I know that it's pretty common in US to give gifts / gift cards during the holiday season. Does anyone know if it's OK to give gifts to Kindergarten teacher in India?. My kid has already got the report card, so we won't be influencing the result .

You can talk to your kid or other parents regarding this. You would also need to check if the School Management is OK with this.

You can go for a greeting card with a note of thank you, and reserve your gift for one of the regular happy holidays ocassion.

paneersodea, We have checked with the kid but he is not clear on this. nancydrew, There are too many happy holiday occasions in India unlike the Holiday season in US . The new academic year starts here in Mid April for CBSE schools (previous academic year finishes by March). They have school till end of April for the new academic year and then the summer holidays from May to mid-June. Fortunately, one of the latest edition of Young World in Hindu newspaper had a nice letter from a Upper KG kid regarding the gifts for his teacher. So, I guess it's OK.
