I have 2 kids who are definitely demanding in terms of time. So it is hard for me to stick to one particular routine. So I just sneak out whenever I get chance.
Sometimes I head to the gym as soon as I come from office if kids are occupied or in good playful mood.
Sometimes it is at 9:00 PM after kids are fed and almost heading bed.
When I was in strict weight loss mode, on weekends their nap time was my big target.
Please continue posting your ideas as to what works for you.

My 2 cents on how we can make time for fitness: a) First and foremost whether fitness is important to me ? I kept on repeatedly asking me this question. This helped me to get present that how important is fitness to me. b) Create a structure for the fitness. My structure is 1) Will workout in gym for 6 days. 2) No junk food. 3) Eat fruits like watermelon/muskmelon first thing in the morning. I enrolled my husband and brother into this structure. So they will keep checking now and then whether i am sticking to my plan. Initially this brought up lot of resistance in me, but it worked. I think one can enroll their kids into their fitness structure. So your kids will make sure that you are taking the committed action. And this also sounds so much of fun, isn't it ? Kids getting to order their mom, "Mama get on to the treadmill, Mama you cant eat chocolate" :-) Kids will do this job perfectly. Please check if this can work.

Shilpa,
Wonderful points. I had not tried with kids though I had my spouse involved in my commitment. Believe me they do excellent job especially if in such matters!;-)

yeah, we need to get time for ourselves whenever kids are in happy mood after eating or sleeping. Yes avantika, very truly said. Unless we make a very conscious effort it does get hard. Amazing how we find time for kids / spouse / family / cooking / etc / etc. And when it comes for self many of us take a back seat more like 'chalega'. You brought out a very good point. Welcome aboard. BTW nice name - avantika.

Hey friends, I am a busy stay at home mom...my workout time had been mainly my daughter's nap time. I workout at home 6 days a week for 18-25 mins every day. yeah thats all my exercise program demands for. But off late, I have been loving the idea of working out in the mornings before she wakes up. It feels great to finish off in the morning itself....mainly there being less worry of doing it in the rest of the day and more energy throughout the day ! So, from past few weeks I am trying my best to do it in the morning Also, I try my best to eat something before the workout to fuel my body, say a banana, an apple or any fruit. ok so my motivation is - "RISE AND SHINE" All the Best !!!!
