Jai Sri Ram
Today is Sri Ram Navami.
Sita Rama Kalyanam is very auspicious on this day. Here is a video of Sita Rama Kalyanam for your Darshan with Ramadasu Kirthana "Pahi Rama Prabhu" by Priya Sisters.
May SitaRama's blessings always be with you.

We make Panakam and Pachadi.
For Panakam: Mix Jaggery, Elaichi Powder and Pachcha Karpooram. Squeeze Lemon Juice and add water. Add the Jaggery mixture. Drop in some Thulasi if you get it.
For Pachadi: Mix Soaked Moon dal, Grated Cucumber, Grated coconut, chopped greenchillies in a bowl with little salt. Heat oil, Add Mustard, Hing and Curryleaves. Add this to mixture in bowl. Add Lemon Juice and mix well.

Wish you all Happy Ram Navami.
Along with prasad, if you happen to know any interesting celebration, please share.
In some parts of northern India(Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat) on eighth auspicious day , they worship young girls. By young I mean not into puberty. They call girls home, do pooja and offer prasad to them.

Since we live in US and inviting girls for pooja is not a practical thing to do, one of my friend sends prasad home to my kids each year. She does that to at least 5 girls.
