Latest update on Swami's healthwww.facebook.com/sairam.saibabaSAI RAM Swami’s health by Prof. G. Venkataraman Loving Sai Ram and greetings from Prashanti Nilayam. This is an update specially for the benefit of devotees all around the world, all of whom are understandably most anxious. Last evening, I went as usual to the Hospital, to spend some time, reflecting and meditating. Of course, I did not go into the ICU, nor did I make any attempt to, since doctors were absolutely strict about entry into the ICU. I strongly believe in professional discipline, without which Karma Yoga would be a joke. I was personally happy to notice that the highest norms were being observed. That said, I was hoping that by some chance I would be able to see Dr. Safaya, and sometime later, my prayers were answered. Out came Dr. Safaya into the main corridor where a few of us were gathered, and when I looked at him, I was absolutely thrilled. There was not only relief writ all over his face but, more important, he was also smiling broadly and appeared totally relaxed; and that said it all. No doubt I asked him the mandatory question, “How is Swami?” However, Dr. Safaya was so lost in relief and joy that he just tapped my hands! Dear reader, I have been observing Dr. Safaya from the moment when Swami was first taken to the Hospital; for me therefore, this sight was the greatest news ever. Just to make doubly sure, this morning I got in touch over the phone with one of the doctors who has been attending on Swami for some time now, and his remark was, “rapid progress". Just two words but they give an accurate indication of where things stand now. Meanwhile, the Hospital has of course issued a formal statement on the evening of April 1, 2011. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba who was hospitalised in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram on March 28, 2011 afternoon is showing considerable improvement. There is positive and good response to the treatment. He is under constant care of a panel of expert doctors and His vital systems continue to function satisfactorily. ============================= Swami, Please shower your grace and mercy on us and Get well soon, Swami. Please, recover completely very soon, Swami - We all love you.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba, whose spiritual clout ran far and wide, passed away on Sunday morning in this town in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district due to cardio-respiratory failure. Sai Baba, who was 86, breathed his last at 7.40 a.m. at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, its Director A.N. Safaya said in a bulletin. “Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is no more with us physically. He left his earthly body on April 24, 2011 at 7:40 a.m. due to cardio-respiratory failure,” it said. The body will lie in state at Sai Kulwant Hall for two days —— Monday and Tuesday, it said, adding that arrangements will be made for darshan after 6:00 pm from Sunday at the Hall. “We appeal to all not to rush to the hospital, but to remain calm and have darshan in an orderly manner,” it said. A pall of gloom descended on this town, 450 km from Hyderabad, as the news of Sai Baba’s death spread. His family members, four ministers and government officials rushed to the hospital following reports that the Sai Baba’s condition had deteriorated further. There has been a complete shutdown in this town since morning following reports about deterioration in the condition of Sai Baba. Sai Baba was hospitalised on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration. www.thehindu.com/news/national/article1763647.ece#www.rediff.com/news/report/sathya-sai-baba-passes-away/20110424.htm
