I hear a lot of talk about privacy, etc. wrt parenting. How far is too far when it comes to privacy and kids?
Am I being a bad mom if I would like to know who all my kid is in touch with, chats with, etc. If I would like to capture some precious moment like my kid singing in her room, should I worry about invading her privacy? Should a parent go through the chat transcripts of a kid or not?
I am sorry about the volley of questions - when I was a kid, we never had this concept of privacy, etc. So, now when my kids ask me questions regarding such things, I dont know what to tell them. Any help is appreciated.

May be when the kids are small, it's easier and when they start entering teens , they need space and parents need to worry about it then, say for only 2-3 years of formative years? Would love to hear from people with grownup kids if this funda is true

I think parent should keep their eyes and ears open without directly pinching kids too much.
