All Aboard Model Train lovers We purchased this during one of the holidays. This was our first Model Train purchases as we had done enough of purchase with Thomas and Friends train sets . This train set has 1 Engine and 5 lighted locomotives. To see the full lighted effect, you need to have a dark room (winters in the East Coast can come very handy ). The tracks which comes along with it is very easy to setup (I believe they are called EZ tracks. This train set has a Power pack with Forward and Reverse option. While I have no problems going forward or backward, the sudden jump from forward -->backward or backward-->forward throws the train off the rails at times. The couplers for joining the locomotives are bit flimsy, they do give you spare couplings along with the set but it would be advisable to buy a few more, specially if you have young kids operating this. Preferred Age : 8+. Price : Roughly around $100. You might get some good deals at etoys (http://www.etoys.com/home/index.jsp) for this train set. Please be careful when playing with younger kids as this needs electricity to run and doesn't operate on batteries.

If this works on Electricity, can we buy this set to use in India? Even if we use adapter, they say that systems dont work after a while if we get from US - that is why I was wondering. Have you encountered such issues?

Have you encountered such issues? I have been using this set in India without any issues for few months now. I got the 220-110 converter from New Jersey before I left for India. Even if you don't get an adapter from US, there are electronic shops like Mercy Electronics in Chennai where you get the adapters. My WII adapter had conked off recently and I got the 220 - 12V (Rs. 750) adapter from Mercy Eletronics and it is working fine.
